


Police arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 400 Tapentadol tablets during a raid in Porsha Upazila on Friday night.
The arrestees have been identified as Shanto Roy, 30, son of the late Rajed Roy of Moshidpur village, and Hasan Ali, 27, son of the late Siddique Ali of Bakil village.
Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman stated that acting on the instructions of Naogaon District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Tariqul Islam, a team led by the OC conducted a special operation at 9:00 PM. The team set up a checkpoint on the Saraigachi-Adda road in front of Moshidpur Hat.
During the operation, police intercepted the suspects on a motorcycle. Upon searching a red shopping bag in their possession, officers recovered 400 pieces of Tapentadol.
According to police, the estimated market value of the seized drugs is Tk 1.20 lakh, while the motorcycle used in the crime is valued at approximately Tk 1.10 lakh.
A case has been registered against the suspects at the Porsha Police Station. The duo was sent to jail by a court on Saturday. OC Rahman added that special anti-drug drives are ongoing in the area to curb the spread of narcotics.
