


Police arrested a drug dealer and seized 1,000 pieces of Indian Tapentadol tablets along with a motorcycle during an operation in Porsha, Naogaon, on Saturday night.
The arrestee has been identified as Shamim Chowdhury, son of the late Dulal Chowdhury, hailing from Sapahar Upazila.
According to Ziaur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Porsha Police Station, the operation was conducted under the directives of Naogaon District Superintendent of Police, Mohammad Tariqul Islam. A police team set up a check post at the Baliachanda bridge on the Saraigachi-Sapahar road in Ganguria Union. At approximately 8:30 PM, officers intercepted Shamim.
Upon searching his person and his motorcycle, police recovered 1,000 Tapentadol tablets concealed in two white polythene bags inside a shopping bag.
Narcotics 1,000 pieces of Tapentadol (Estimated value Tk 3 lakh). Vehicle An old Suzuki Gixxer motorcycle used for trafficking (Estimated value: Tk 2 lakh).
The OC confirmed that a case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act. Shamim was produced before the court and sent to jail on Sunday. Law enforcement officials emphasized that anti-drug operations remain ongoing in the area.
