The Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 185 bottles of foreign liquor, valued at approximately Tk 7 million, during a raid in the Patenga area of Chattogram city early Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Coast Guard’s Patenga outpost conducted the operation near the Akmal Ali Switchgate. Sensing the presence of law enforcement, the smugglers abandoned the consignment and fled the scene. As a result, no arrests were made during the drive.

Coast Guard Media Officer, Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, confirmed the seizure, noting that the bottles represent various premium brands. The seized goods are being handed over to the relevant police station for further legal proceedings.
