In celebration of National Nutrition Week 2026, the Upazila Health Department distributed high-quality nutritious food among orphans and madrasa students across Paikgaccha on Friday.
Marking the second day of the week-long campaign themed "End nutritional inequality, build a self-reliant Bangladesh," Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed visited several institutions. These included the Batikhali Siratul Huda Orphanage and the Bus Stand Karimiya Arabia Madrasa, where she personally handed out food supplies and shared vital health messages.
"Our goal is to eliminate malnutrition by raising public awareness," Dr. Ahmed stated during the distribution. "While we eat every day, many remain unaware of actual nutritional requirements." She urged the community to prioritize the dietary needs of pregnant women and children to ensure a healthy, strong future for the nation.
Dr. Ahmed was accompanied by Resident Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mondal and other medical consultants and health workers. The initiative is part of a broader government effort to promote balanced diets and healthy lifestyles at the grassroots level.
