Muksudpur Welcomes New Year with Rally and Cultural Shows

Muksudpur Upazila celebrated the Bengali New Year 1433 with vibrant events centered on the theme "Harmony of the New Year, Revival of Democracy." Organized by the upazila administration the day-long program saw enthusiastic participation from all levels of society.

The festivities began at 7:30 AM at the Upazila Officers’ Club ground. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahmud Ashiq Kabir inaugurated the event highlighting the New Year's role in fostering communal harmony and democratic values.

A colorful "Mangal Shobhajatra" (procession) paraded through the town’s main roads, featuring traditional motifs, banners and festoons. Government officials, political leaders, journalists, teachers, and students joined the rally which ended back at the Officers’ Club premises.

Following the march, local artists performed traditional songs, dances, and poetry recitations. The cultural segment was coordinated by Mostafizur Rahman Selim and Lecturer Mahbub Hasan Babar. Notable attendees included Muksudpur Police OC Abdullah Al Mamun, Upazila BNP President Abdus Salam Khan and Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Siru Mia.

In rural areas various organizations hosted traditional fairs and food festivals featuring Panta-Ilish ensuring the festive spirit reached every corner of the upazila.
