A mobile court has fined a retail trader Tk 20,000 for selling octane at inflated prices in Madhukhali Upazila, Faridpur.

The drive was conducted on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the Megachami Union area. The operation was led by Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Erfanur Rahman.

During the drive at Messrs. Ruma Traders, the owner, Md. Helal Sheikh, was found guilty of overcharging customers for fuel. Magistrate Erfanur Rahman confirmed that the trader admitted to the irregularity before the fine was imposed.

Authorities stated that such monitoring drives will continue to ensure fair pricing and protect consumer rights in the local retail market.
