Arrested After 8-Year-Old Raped in Narail’s Kalia

Police have arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Kalia Upazila, Narail. The accused, identified as Ali Molya, was apprehended after the victim’s father filed a case with Naragati Police Station.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in Kalabaria Union. Ali Molya is the son of the late Dudu Molya, a resident of Mathabhanga Guchchagram. The victim is a third-grade student at a local primary school.

According to police and family sources, the child was attacked near a pond behind her house. When her cries for help alerted her uncle, the assailant attempted to flee. However, local residents caught Ali Molya and handed him over to the authorities.

Naragati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahim confirmed the arrest on Saturday afternoon. He stated that following the filing of the case on Friday night, the accused was produced before a court on Saturday morning and subsequently sent to jail.
