Ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, VGF rice has been distributed among poor and vulnerable families in Naldanga Union of Sadullapur Upazila in Gaibandha under the government’s humanitarian assistance programme for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

The distribution programme was officially inaugurated on Thursday at the Naldanga Union Parishad premises by Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Gafur and Tag Officer Md. Nazmuzzaman Sarkar.

Under the initiative of the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, each beneficiary family received 10 kilograms of rice. In total, 3,787 low-income and helpless families in the union received assistance.

Assistant Teacher Hashem Mollah, a member of the Naldanga Union Humanitarian Assistance Committee, along with other committee members, monitored the distribution activities.

During the inspection, committee members expressed satisfaction with the management and overall organisation of the distribution programme.

Among others present were Sadullapur Upazila Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Abu Naser, Naldanga Union Parishad Administrative Officer Abdul Wahab Sarkar, Union Parishad members and local journalists.
