Carpenter Found Dead in Lakshmipur

A man named Arif Hossain (40), a carpenter from Raipur in Lakshmipur, was found dead under mysterious circumstances early Sunday (October 19). His family claims he was murdered in a planned attack.

Arif’s sister Nasrin Akter filed a case with Raipur Police Station against unidentified suspects.

According to his wife Nasima Akter, Arif received a phone call on the night of the incident and went outside after someone called him but never returned. His body was later found near a deep tube well close to his home.

Family members alleged that a land dispute with former municipal councillor Shamsunnahar Lili and her associates might have led to the killing. Police said, they are investigating the incident, while the post-mortem report will determine the exact cause of death.
