


In a bid to support marginalized communities BDT.10.5 lakh in humanitarian aid was distributed to 486 destitute individuals in Raipur upazila of Laxmipur on Sunday.
The cash assistance was primarily sourced from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, supplemented by the local Member of Parliament’s discretionary fund. The initiative aims to alleviate the immediate financial hardships faced by the upazila's most vulnerable residents.
The Raipur Upazila administration organized the distribution ceremony at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. Md. Abul Khair Bhuiyan, MP for the Laxmipur-2 constituency attended the event as the chief guest and personally handed over the funds to the selected beneficiaries. Raipur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan Kawsar presided over the function.
Speaking at the event, officials reiterated that supporting the helpless and impoverished is a core responsibility of the government.
This financial aid will help meet the temporary needs of the underprivileged, speakers also made a public appeal urging wealthy and capable citizens to step forward and contribute to the welfare of the needy in their communities.
