Police arrested 10 individuals during a late-night raid at a residential hotel in the city’s Baklia area on Sunday.
The operation targeted the "Swapnil Residential Hotel" in the Chaktai Bhera Market area. Following a search of several rooms on the fourth floor, police detained four men and six women on charges of involvement in illicit activities.
The arrestees have been identified as Md. Mainuddin, Md. Morshed, A. Gafur, Babul Mia, Yasmin, Setu Akhter, Sadia Akhter Salma, Rumpa Shil, Sharmin Akhter, and Baby Akhter.
Baklia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Solaiman stated that the raid was conducted based on a tip-off. "A case is being processed against the detainees, and legal action will follow," he said.
