Meanwhile, the locals have expressed anger over the poor condition of the road before its inauguration. They claim that there have been irregularities and corruption in the road work.
According to City Corporation sources, a work order was given to a contracting company named UCCL to implement the work. Development work was implemented under two packages with the aim of bituminous carpeting on the west bank of Turag River in Kashimpur area of Gazipur metropolis with the funding of the City Corporation.
Of these, the estimated cost for the construction of 1,150 meters of road under Package 12 was 100 million 80 lakh taka. But the contractor was given a work order for 110 million 64 lakh 41 thousand 571 taka, which was more than the estimated cost.
Under another package 5, the estimated cost for the construction of 12,046 meters of road is 130 million 190 thousand 21 thousand taka. Still, the work order was given at a cost of 140 million 28 lakh 11 thousand 459 taka, which is more than the estimated cost.
The implementation of the road under the two packages includes the construction of 250 meters of WBM, 60 mm carpeting, 1.8 meters of footpath and railing guard wall.
Locals said that the road was poured a few days before the election. The road collapsed 3 days after the pouring was completed. The road sagged a few feet. In addition, cracks have appeared at various places on the road. There have been widespread irregularities in the work on this road. Low-quality materials have been provided, and even the required pouring was not provided. Locals demand justice for those involved in the work.

In such a situation, cracks first appeared in the Dhanjaykhali area, then broke there and sank a few feet. This has caused panic among the people of that area. Apart from this, cracks have been seen in various parts.
