A person's severed hand recovered from the side of the highway in Gazipur

The police recovered the severed hand of an unidentified person from the side of the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the Chandra CP Gate area of ​​Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur on Sunday morning. Initially, the police believe that the hand belongs to a man.

According to police and local sources, the locals saw a severed hand lying on the opposite side of the Chandra CP Gate of the highway at around 8:30 am. Later, they called the national emergency service number 999 and reported the matter. After the incident, the police went to the spot and recovered the hand. After searching the surrounding area, no body or related information was found.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliakair Police Station Khandaker Nasir Uddin said that it is believed that the recovered hand may belong to a man aged approximately 35. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether it is the hand of a living or deceased person. So far, no complaint has been filed in this regard at the police station. Police said legal proceedings are ongoing regarding the matter.
