Two sentenced to three months in prison for consuming Yaba in Gazipur

A mobile court has sentenced two people to three months in prison each for consuming Yaba in Kaliganj, Gazipur. They were arrested from the Durbati area of ​​the local municipality on Sunday (February 1) morning while consuming drugs.

The convicts are Parvez Ahmed (27), son of the deceased Bakul Akand of Durbati area, and Taijul Islam (28), son of Nazrul Islam.

According to police and mobile court sources, Kaliganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Hayatul Rahman conducted a raid in the Durbati area on Saturday morning. At that time, Parvez Ahmed and Taijul Islam were arrested while consuming Yaba. Later, when they were produced in the mobile court, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Zakia Sarwar Lima sentenced them to three months in prison under the Narcotics Control Act.
