PIB Concludes Two-Day Election Journalism Training for Faridpur and Madaripur Reporters

A two-day intensive training on election journalism for local reporters from Faridpur and Madaripur concluded today. Organized by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), the workshop focused on equipping media workers with the tools needed for the upcoming national elections.

Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan Molla attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, joined by District Senior Information Officer Mozammel Hossain and Dhaka Mail Executive Editor Harun Jamil.

The curriculum covered essential pillars of modern reporting such as: Election Reporting Methods: Best practices for field coverage. Safety & Security: Protecting journalists’ physical and digital presence. Information Integrity: Identifying and countering fake news, disinformation, and hate speech.

Addressing the participants, speakers emphasized the media's vital role in maintaining democratic integrity. Journalists were urged to prioritize fact-checking and objective reporting to combat rumors and propaganda.

A total of 50 journalists participated in the sessions, coordinated by PIB trainer Mohammad Shah Alam.
