


An information meeting was held today at the Jhilmil Auditorium to raise public awareness regarding the 13th National Parliament Election and the constitutional referendum scheduled for February 12, 2026.
Chaired by Shantiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Shahjahan, the event featured Sunamganj Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Dr. Mohammad Ilias Mia as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr. Ilias Mia highlighted the significance of the upcoming referendum on the "July Charter," a set of state reform proposals. He urged citizens to exercise their voting rights thoughtfully. "The government has proposed vital reforms for the state. If you believe these changes are beneficial for the country, cast a 'Yes' vote; if not, you have the right to vote 'No'. However, progress requires change, and we must participate to shape that future," he said.
The meeting also featured speeches from ,ABM Zakir Hossain, Sunamganj Police Superintendent ,Tapas Shil, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tapas Ranjan Ghosh, Additional Superintendent of Police, Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui, Academic Supervisor (Session Chair)
The session concluded with an interactive discussion involving administrative officers and representatives from various professional groups, focusing on ensuring a transparent and peaceful voting process.
