Thief identified in CCTV footage, motorcycle thief arrested

Police have arrested a motorcycle thief who stole a motorcycle from in front of Messrs. Rafia Traders in Chakbishnapur Bazar, Naogaon. In this incident, Masud Rana (31), son of Dilbar Mandal of Rampura village in Adamdighi upazila of Bogra district, was arrested with the help of CCTV footage and information technology. However, the motorcycle could not be recovered.

It is reported that Shariful Islam, son of Ekramul Haque of Chakbishnapur (Colony) village of the upazila, left his used Discover-110cc motorcycle in front of Messrs. Rafia Traders on November 7 at noon and went to the mosque to offer Friday prayers. After the prayers, he returned and found that the motorcycle he had kept was missing. Later, after confirming the CCTV footage, Shariful Islam filed a case with Porsha Police Station on December 18.

The police conducted a raid and arrested Masud Rana, a member of the motorcycle theft syndicate, from the house of his father-in-law, the deceased Lizakat Ali, in Nitpur Jelepara. Confirming the matter, Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman said that Masud Rana was arrested and sent to jail on Thursday afternoon.
