Although the temperature in Kurigram district has fluctuated between 12 and 13 degrees Celsius in the past few days, the lowest temperature in the district was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, December 10 at 6 am. The intensity of winter has brought public life in Kurigram to a standstill. The intensity of winter is being felt more in the cold wind during the day and night.

People in the char areas along the river banks are especially suffering from the cold. The intensity of winter is severe from the afternoon to the next morning. Although the sun shines all around during the day, there is not much heat in the sunlight. Nur Mohammad of Holokhana Master's Hat area of ​​​​Kurigram Sadar Upazila, suffering from winter, said that he is late to work due to winter. He wants to work in the cold, but if he does not work, he does not feel hungry.

Shahidul Islam of Nunkhawa Union in Nageshwari Upazila said, "This year, I have been struggling to get my crops ready for the cold. They even gave me a blanket." Khairul from the same area said that working in the cold makes my hands and feet burn.

On the other hand, school students are delaying going to educational institutions due to the cold. Domestic animals and birds have not been spared from this severity of the cold. Meanwhile, there is a huge crowd of cold-related patients in hospitals.

Civil Surgeon of Kurigram General Hospital Dr. Swapnan Kumar Biswas said that due to the cold, cold-related patients are receiving medical services in the outdoor areas of various upazila hospitals including the district town.

In this regard, Kurigram Deputy Commissioner Annapurna Debnath said that the list of winter clothes has been completed and blankets will be distributed among the cold-related people very soon.
