Lohagara Celebrates Liberation Day with Tribute to Freedom Fighters

Lohagara Liberation Day was celebrated in Lohagara, Narail, with a series of commemorative events held on Monday (December 8th) by the Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad (Freedom Fighters’ Association).

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Municipal Administrator Mosa: Sadia Sultana officially hoisted the flag at the Lohagara Muktijoddha Office at 10 AM, attended by a large number of brave freedom fighters. At 10:30 AM, freedom fighters and local political leaders visited the grave of Shaheed Habibur Rahman on the Lohagara Police Station premises.

The central discussion and prayer meeting was held at 11 AM at the Upazila Muktijoddha Complex hall, presided over by Abul Kashem Sheikh, Convener of the Lohagara Upazila Muktijoddha Command Council. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mosa: Sadia Sultana spoke as the Chief Guest at the discussion, which was moderated by freedom fighter Abdul Hamid.

Speakers at the event included freedom fighters Sheikh Mukarram Hossain and Yar Ali, Lohagara Government Pilot High School Headmaster SM Hayatuzzaman, and various leaders from the Upazila and Municipal BNP, including Md. Ahaduzzaman Batu, Kazi Sultanuzzaman Selim, and Md. Tipu Sultan. The celebration concluded with a prayer meeting (doa mahfil) held in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
