The 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy will make its grand entrance at the New York-New Jersey stadium inside a custom-made Louis Vuitton trunk. This marks the fifth consecutive tournament the French luxury fashion house has been trusted to design the protective case for football's ultimate prize, continuing a tradition that began in 2010.
The bespoke trunk is crafted with the brand's iconic monogram pattern and reinforced by gold-plated brass corners. A prominent golden "V"—standing for both "Victory" and "Vuitton"—decorates the front. Inside, the case features an elegant beige leather lining and a commemorative patch celebrating the FIFA and Louis Vuitton partnership.
Louis Vuitton CEO and Chairman Pietro Beccari highlighted the collaboration, noting the brands share a commitment to excellence and a belief in sport's power to inspire and unite people globally. Because the original World Cup trophy typically resides at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, designing its bespoke luggage is considered a rare honour.
However, the collaboration reflects a broader trend of luxury brands staking their claim in professional sports. Louis Vuitton also creates custom trophy trunks for Formula 1, while Tiffany & Co. has famously crafted the Super Bowl’s Vince Lombardi Trophy since its first edition in 1967.
