The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed profound grief and state of mourning following the passing of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. In an official press release issued today, the country’s apex cricket body extended its heartfelt condolences to her family and the nation.

The Board highlighted Khaleda Zia's instrumental role in elevating Bangladesh cricket during her various tenures as Prime Minister. The BCB specifically noted that her administration provided "outstanding support" for the sport, which was pivotal in modernizing cricket infrastructure and fostering growth at a national level.
