


To mark International May Day, the Phulbari Upazila branch of the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal (Nationalist Workers' Party) organized a colorful rally and discussion meeting on Friday.
Chanting slogans such as "Workers of the world, unite," leaders, activists, and local laborers marched through the main roads of the upazila before gathering at the local Nimtala intersection for a public discussion. The event focused heavily on securing fair wages, establishing safe working environments, and recognizing the critical role the working class plays in national development.
Upazila Sramik Dal President Faruk Hossain chaired the meeting, which was moderated by General Secretary Abul Hasan Molla.
Key speakers addressed the crowd, urging everyone to embrace the spirit of May Day to ensure the welfare of the labor force. "Strengthening the unity of the working class is essential to realizing fair demands and protecting workers' rights," the speakers emphasized.
Other notable leaders who addressed the rally included Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Zulfikar Ali, Phulbari Municipal BNP Acting General Secretary Murtuza Haque Ashtin, BNP leader Darul Islam Chowdhury, Upazila Swechchhasebak Dal Convener Makhlesar Rahman Nabab, Upazila BNP Co-Organizing Secretary Enamul Haque, and Sramik Dal Vice President Sajjad Hossain Saju.
People from various professions, local labor representatives, and political activists participated in the day-long program.
