No Need to Panic Over Upcoming Jatiya Sangsad Polls: EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed

Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed today assured that there is "no situation" that warrants panic or concern regarding the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.

Speaking to journalists at Nirbachan Bhaban, he acknowledged that election preparations are ongoing and that adjustments to the initial plan are sometimes necessary based on the evolving situation. While some tasks are complete, others are still in progress.

Akhtar Ahmed confirmed that the list of polling centres has been finalized and that both the final list of polling centres and the registration of political parties are expected to be completed within this week. He mentioned that information about new party registrations is currently being reviewed.

Regarding the BNP's objection letter concerning the amendment to the Representation of the People Order (RPO), the Secretary stated that the Election Commission will review the letter and make a decision on the matter.
