Tongi Jubo League Leader Arrested at Dhaka Airport

Immigration police have arrested Billal Molla, a leader of the Jubo League and former councillor of Ward 54 of Gazipur City Corporation, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The arrest was made on Sunday night (February 15), airport immigration officials said.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi West Police Station, Shaheen Khan, confirmed the arrest.

He said Billal Molla was detained by immigration police at the airport and later handed over to the Gazipur Metropolitan Police Detective Branch. He was shown arrested in a murder case filed with Tongi West Police Station.

On Monday afternoon (February 16), he was produced before a Gazipur court and sent to jail.

Police said several cases have been filed against Billal Molla at different police stations in Gazipur. These include charges of attacks, murder, and sabotage linked to violence against participants of the student and public movement against discrimination.
