Journalist Anis Alamgir has been arrested in a case filed under the Uttara Paschim Police Station on charges of conspiring to destabilize the state and inciting a banned organization.

DB Police Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam confirmed the arrest to the media, stating that Alamgir is scheduled to be produced in court this afternoon.

Alamgir was initially taken to the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) office for questioning on Sunday evening (December 14). Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed he was brought in around 8:15 pm. Speaking to the media on his mobile phone at the time, Alamgir stated he was taken from a gym in the Dhanmondi area and informed that the DB chief wished to speak with him.
