A clash reportedly occurred at Dhaka's Government Titumir College around midnight on Saturday, leaving several people injured, mostly activists of the Islami Chhatra Shibir. The confrontation was sparked by the hanging of a Shibir banner on the campus.
According to Rasel Sarwar, chief of the Banani Police Station, the situation has returned to normal as of Sunday morning, with police deployed in the area to maintain order.
The clash allegedly involved members of the Chhatra Dal (BNP's student wing) and Islami Chhatra Shibir (Jamaat-e-Islami's student wing). However, the two sides presented conflicting accounts of the incident. Shibir activists claim they were attacked by the Chhatra Dal.
Chhatra Dal activists assert that Shibir clashed with "regular students" of the college.
OC Rasel Sarwar confirmed that police have spoken to both groups, noting the conflicting reports. Despite the injuries and confrontation, no formal complaints have been filed regarding the incident so far.
