


Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today paid profound tribute to Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, marking the 49th death anniversary of the "leader of the oppressed."
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Tarique Rahman emphasized that Maulana Bhashani remains a crucial source of inspiration for the BNP and the nation, especially in the ongoing struggle for democratic and rightful demands. He stated, "Maulana Bhashani will always be our source of inspiration in achieving the rightful demands of the helpless, and in protecting democracy, human rights and the country's independence and sovereignty."
Tarique Rahman highlighted Bhashani's "profound patriotism," his defense of national interests, and his "defiance against the enemies of democracy and humanity."
He described Maulana Bhashani as an "unforgettable and important name in the national history" and a "legendary figure in the struggle against imperialism, colonialism and expansionism."
The BNP Acting Chairman noted that Bhashani provided "uncompromising and brave leadership" for the exploited people of the subcontinent, starting from the anti-British movement, and will forever be remembered as a "pioneer who guided the nation toward liberation."
Rahman underscored Bhashani’s commitment to farmers, laborers, and working people, stating that his position was always "against exploitation and in favor of the exploited," with his "fearless and strong leadership" continuously encouraging people to secure their rights.
Rahman concluded his tribute by offering deep respect to the memory of Maulana Bhashani and praying for the salvation of his departed soul.
