CEC Declares Upcoming Polls a 'Milestone,' Urges Voters to Resist Rumors

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin stated today (9 November) that the upcoming national election will be a "milestone for the nation," noting that the entire world and the Bangladeshi people are eagerly awaiting the exercise of voting rights. The CEC delivered his message, titled "Expectations of the Election Commission on the Upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election," via a video uploaded to the EC Secretariat's official Facebook page.

CEC Uddin emphasized the enthusiasm of the young generation and urged all citizens: "Your vote is your power. Exercise your right to vote and encourage others to do the same."

Abdur Rahmanel Masud cautioned against the spread of false information and unverified rumors, stressing the importance of relying on authentic, credible sources to prevent disruption to the democratic process.

Begum Tahmida Ahmad highlighted the commitment to a gender-sensitive electoral process, assuring that the EC is working tirelessly to ensure every eligible citizen, regardless of gender, can cast their vote.

Md. Anwarul Islam Sarker called upon all candidates, public representatives, and citizens to strictly adhere to the electoral code of conduct and relevant laws to ensure a high-quality election.

Brig Gen Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah (Retd.) addressed Bangladeshi expatriates, promising that the EC is working earnestly to fulfill the Chief Adviser's commitment to ensure overseas participation in voting for the first time.
