Government Has No Immediate Plan to Raise Gas Prices: Petrobangla

The government has no immediate plan to increase gas prices, Petrobangla said Saturday (August 1), urging consumers and other stakeholders not to be misled by reports suggesting otherwise.

In a notice issued Saturday, the state-owned gas company said the clarification was necessary following recent media reports about a possible increase in gas prices.

“Currently, the government has no plan to increase gas prices,” Petrobangla said in the notice, asking all concerned parties not to be confused by such reports.

The statement comes amid recent reports about a possible revision of gas tariffs in Bangladesh.
