The Election Commission of Jagannath University (JnU) has published the draft voter list for the upcoming Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) and hall union elections, marking the first-ever student union polls since the university's establishment.

The draft list, published on Thursday evening, includes a total of 16,365 students from 41 departments and institutes who are eligible to vote. The Department of Management Studies has the highest number of voters, and the Department of Sculpture has the fewest.

Copies of the list have been distributed to all departments. The election schedule allocates November 9 to 11 for accepting and resolving objections regarding the draft list. The final voter list will be published on November 12.

There are allegations that the names of some postgraduate students, specifically those with incomplete credits or re-enrollment status, were omitted. Commission sources attributed this to miscommunication between certain departments and the commission.

The Election Commission has assured that this issue will be resolved by Sunday, guaranteeing the inclusion of those eligible students in the final list.

The historic JnUCSU and hall union elections are slated for December 22, 2025.
