Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the 'Family Card' program in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, on Wednesday (June 17) afternoon. The Ministry of Social Welfare organized the launch event at the Victoria High School grounds.

During the event, June allowances were instantly transferred via mobile to 155 beneficiaries, and the Prime Minister personally distributed financial assistance to several vulnerable families. The remaining funds for the region will be disbursed to beneficiaries through the government's online platform.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister arrived in Sylhet at 10:15 am and traveled to Srimangal by road.

Following the inauguration, he is scheduled to rest briefly at Dusai Resort before attending a local political meeting. He will return to Dhaka from Sylhet's Osmani International Airport in the evening.

The local administration has tightened security across Moulvibazar for the visit, which has generated significant enthusiasm among local political leaders and activists.
