


The government has launched an extensive nationwide campaign to build public awareness for the upcoming referendum scheduled for February 12.
The initiative aims to eliminate misinformation and clarify the voting process at the grassroots level. According to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing, the program involves training field-level officials, religious leaders, and NGO representatives.
On Sunday, a divisional officers’ conference and an Imam conference were held in Barishal. During these sessions, Special Assistants to the Chief Adviser, Prof. Ali Riaz and Monir Haider, provided instructional briefings on the referendum. Similar programs are scheduled for all other divisions in the coming days.
The Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) is supervising the rollout. Divisional Commissioners’ Offices are managing training for local officials and NGOs, while the Islamic Foundation is coordinating sessions for religious leaders.
Divisional Imam conferences and exchange meetings are scheduled on January 12: Rajshahi, January 14: Rangpur, January 15: Chattogram, January 17: Dhaka, January 19: Mymensingh, January 22: Sylhet, January 24: Khulna.
These meetings will bring together a broad range of stakeholders, including university vice-chancellors, senior journalists, business leaders, and civil society representatives, to ensure a well-informed electorate.
