Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Lebanese group Hezbollah launched simultaneous attacks against Israeli positions early Wednesday. The strikes, which occurred around 5:30 AM Bangladesh time, targeted northern Israel and various regional military installations.
According to a statement from Hezbollah, their forces targeted the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Shmona. Israeli officials confirmed the assault from Lebanese territory, reporting one fatality and two injuries in the northern region.
Simultaneously, the IRGC announced the commencement of "Operation True Promise 4." Iranian state-run Fars News Agency reported that this 88th round of missile strikes targeted Kiryat Shmona, Tel Aviv, and Bnei Brak. The IRGC claimed the operation specifically aimed at military command centers and strategic sites north of Safed, which they allege were used in prior operations against southern Lebanon.
The IRGC further claimed to have targeted military facilities in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain that house US forces. In their statement, the IRGC described the strikes as the beginning of a broader campaign targeting "Zionist force gatherings" in northern Palestine and the Gaza Strip.
