Of the five films released this Eid-ul-Fitr, 'Dum'—starring Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury, and Pooja Cherry—has emerged as the clear leader in both viewership and earnings. The Redwan Rony directorial set a new milestone by grossing 1 crore taka in multiplexes within just three days of its release.
Following 'Dum' in popularity is 'Banolata Express,' directed by Tanim Noor and based on Humayun Ahmed's novel Kishore Kahan. Other notable releases include Mehedi Hasan Hridoy’s 'Rakshas' starring Siam Ahmed, Abu Hayat Mahmud’s 'Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka' starring Shakib Khan, and Raihan Rafi’s 'Pressure Cooker' starring Shabnam Bubli.
This Eid, audiences have shown a distinct preference for story-driven family dramas over traditional action-heavy cinema. 'Dum' has seen a massive surge in interest, with 27 out of 35 shows at Star Cineplex and Lion Cinemas running housefull.
As the first Bangladeshi film of 2026 to reach the 1 crore mark so quickly, its daily earnings show steady growth: 30.39 lakh taka on the first day, 34.07 lakh on the second, and 36.52 lakh on the third.
