


Award-winning actress Runa Khan is set to make her debut as a law enforcement official in the upcoming psychological thriller Roktochaya.Directed by Ali Zulfikar Zahedi, the short film recently wrapped production and is now targeting the international festival circuit, including a hopeful premiere at Cannes.
A Study in Resilience Roktochaya explores the complexities of gender discrimination, highlighting the intelligence and authority of women in modern society. Khan portrays Shivana Nasrin, a principled and outspoken officer tasked with curbing a rise in urban crime. For Khan, the role serves as a mirror to real-world institutional challenges. "The character reflects a reality where female leaders must constantly defend their competence and credibility," the actress noted during production.
Cast and Production The film is produced by Adrian Productions and features a supporting cast including: • Aman Reza • Rafah Nanjeba Torsa • Nokshi Tabassum • Affan Mitul This project marks the first of two collaborations between the actress and director. Khan has also been cast in Zahedi’s upcoming feature film, Chalachitra: The Cinema, which examines the lives of those shaped by Bangladesh’s film industry.
