A total of Tk 3.25 crore in toll was collected from vehicles crossing the Jamuna Bridge during the Eid-ul-Azha travel rush on March 24.

According to bridge authorities, 39,919 vehicles crossed the bridge through the east and west toll plazas combined.

At the east toll plaza, 22,112 vehicles crossed the bridge, generating Tk 1.62 crore in toll revenue. On the west side, 17,807 vehicles crossed, with toll collection reaching Tk 1.62 crore.

Syed Riaz Uddin, executive engineer of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office, said traffic pressure increases significantly before Eid as people travel home to celebrate with their families. He added that vehicle movement remains high as many people also return to work after the holiday, leading to higher toll collection during this period.
