Advance train ticket sales for passengers returning after Eid will begin on Friday, March 13. On that day, tickets for journeys on March 23 will be available.

The decision was taken at a recent preparatory meeting on Eid-ul-Fitr special train services held at Rail Bhaban in the capital. As in previous years, Bangladesh Railway will sell intercity train tickets seven days in advance under a special arrangement.

For passenger convenience, all tickets will be sold online.

Online ticket sales will begin daily at 8:00 am for all intercity train seats in the railway’s western region. Tickets for all intercity train seats in the eastern region will be available from 2:00 pm.

According to the schedule announced by the railway:

  • Tickets for March 23 will be sold on March 13

  • Tickets for March 24 on March 14

  • Tickets for March 25 on March 15

  • Tickets for March 26 on March 16

  • Tickets for March 27 on March 17

  • Tickets for March 28 on March 18

  • Tickets for March 29 on March 19

Tickets for March 20, 21 and 22 will be sold depending on the sighting of the Eid moon.

Passengers will also be able to buy standing tickets for non-AC coaches. Up to 25 percent of these tickets will be available from the train’s starting station before departure.

Each passenger can purchase advance tickets only once for the Eid journey, with a maximum of four seats allowed per purchase. Bangladesh Railway has also announced that these tickets will not be refundable.
