


Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, met Tarique Rahman, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, at the Cabinet Division in the Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday (March 9).
During the meeting, the BEPZA chief briefed the prime minister on the current activities, investment progress and development plans of the country’s Export Processing Zones (EPZs).
Officials said the discussion focused on strengthening export-oriented industries, attracting foreign investment and improving infrastructure in EPZ areas to support industrial growth.
Major General Moazzem Hossain also highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at expanding industrial facilities and improving services for investors operating in EPZs across the country.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman emphasised the importance of increasing export capacity and ensuring a favourable environment for both local and foreign investors. He also instructed the authorities concerned to continue efforts to enhance industrial productivity and employment through EPZ development.
BEPZA plays a key role in managing Bangladesh’s export processing zones, which contribute significantly to the country’s export earnings and job creation.
Officials said the meeting also reviewed future strategies to further strengthen Bangladesh’s position as a competitive manufacturing and export hub.
