A 7-day tree fair and plantation drive began in Bhola on Wednesday with the theme "Beautify the country with tree plantation Bangladesh first."
Jointly organized by the district administration and the Coastal Forest Department, the initiative aims to foster a cleaner environment and expand local green cover. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shamim Rahman officially inaugurated the fair at the Bhola Government High School grounds following a vibrant morning awareness rally.
Divisional Forest Officer Md. Ariful Haque Belal chaired the inaugural discussion. District Council Administrator Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir and Police Superintendent Md. Shahidullah Kawsar attended as special guests alongside other government officials and local dignitaries.
Following the discussion officials toured the fairgrounds. The exhibition features 17 stalls showcasing a diverse collection of fruit-bearing timber and medicinal saplings. To encourage active community participation in environmental conservation, organizers distributed saplings among attendees.
