Autorickshaw Stolen from Pabna Shop; Police Launch Probe

A battery-powered autorickshaw worth Tk 3.5 lakh was stolen from a grocery shop in the Ramchandrapur area of Pabna Sadar Upazila early Friday.

The victim a local businessman Md. Abdul Hakim filed a General Diary (GD) with the Pabna Sadar Police Station following the incident.

According to the GD Mr. Hakim locked the autorickshaw inside his shop "Abdul Hakim Store" near the SP Circle Office at around 10:00 PM on July 23. The theft was discovered at 6:00 AM the following morning when the vehicle's driver Md. Ranju arrived to find the shop’s lock and shutter severed.

Despite immediate searches in the surrounding areas with the assistance of locals that the vehicle has not been recovered. The stolen autorickshaw is a red and brown Dowedo brand vehicle equipped with a lithium battery (Chassis No. YDKD22045377).

Hakim noted that his shop had been targeted by thieves on two previous occasions both of which were also reported to the police. The recurring burglaries have raised security concerns among local merchants.

The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station confirmed the receipt of the complaint and stating that police have launched an investigation into the matter and will take necessary legal action.
