


Jhalakathi observed World Population Day 2026 on Sunday (July 12) with a focus on harnessing youth potential to build a prosperous future.
Organized by the District Family Planning Department, the event was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. This year's observance centered on the theme: "Implementing the hopes and aspirations of youth, building a beautiful future with today's conviction."
Speaking as the chief guest, Jhalakathi Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin stressed the critical need to balance population growth while maximizing the capabilities of the younger generation.
The session was chaired by Tapas Kumar Shil, Deputy Director of the local Family Planning Department. The meeting was attended by senior district officials, family planning staff, and local stakeholders, following the directives of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
