National Rural Development Day Marked in Paikgachha

Paikgachha upazila marked National Rural Development Day on Monday with a rally, discussion, and tree plantation program.

Organized by the Upazila Administration and the Rural Development Board, a morning rally started at the Upazila Parishad premises, marched through the main roads, and concluded back at the starting point.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury chaired a subsequent discussion at the Upazila Parishad auditorium, where Rural Development Board Officer Wahid Murad delivered the welcome address.

Key speakers included Agriculture Officer Ekramul Hossain, Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallik, Engineer Shafin Shoaib, Cooperative Officer Humayun Kabir, and Central Association Chairman Pran Krishna Roy.

Following the discussion, UNO Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury distributed various tree saplings among local cooperative members to encourage environmental sustainability. Government officials, cooperative members, and local dignitaries attended the event.
