Father and Son Hurt in Phulbari Clash Over Tree Damage

On the afternoon of Saturday May 30, 2026 a violent clash erupted in Phulbari Upazila, Dinajpur, over financial compensation for trees damaged during a recent Kalbaisakhi storm.

The altercation, rooted in a long-standing dispute between Jahangir Alam and his stepbrothers, resulted in injuries to Jahangir and his 29-year-old son, Shahjahan Hossain Shanto. Both victims are receiving treatment at the Phulbari Upazila Health Complex, where Jahangir required stitches for a chest wound.

A written complaint naming four individuals including Abdur Rashid Rocket, Ratan, and Saddam Hossain has been filed by Jahangir’s brother, Mizanur Rahman at the Phulbari Police Station.
