Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam has announced that all sacrificial animal waste will be cleared within eight hours during the upcoming Eid.

He made the commitment on Wednesday morning while inaugurating a newly beautified Secondary Transfer Station (STS) in Ward 19 on Old Elephant Road.

To ensure safety and convenience at cattle markets, the DSCC will establish dedicated control rooms, deploy on-site doctors, and increase police patrols. Salam assured the public that all livestock market waste will be removed immediately after trading concludes.

Addressing broader public health concerns, the Administrator noted that ward-level surveys are currently underway to curb the spread of dengue and chikungunya. The city corporation will use the survey findings to launch targeted, preventive drives across the city.
