The bi-annual general election of the Officers Welfare Association of Barapukuria Coal Mine Company Limited (BCMCL) in Dinajpur has been held.

The voting for this election was held in the meeting room of the Officers Welfare Association of Barapukuria Coal Mine Company Limited in a peaceful and festive atmosphere on Monday (October 22).

In the bi-annual election, the company's Deputy General Manager (Payroll and Bill) Md. Kamrul Hasan was elected as the president of the association, and the manager (DLO) Safayet Ali. Mia was elected as the general secretary.

After counting the votes, the results were announced by the Election Commissioner of the bi-annual election, General Manager and Secretary Rajibul Alam. At this time, Managing Director (MD) of Barapukuria Coal Mine Company Limited Md. Abu Taleb Farazi and the general managers of the company congratulated the winning candidates and extended their best wishes to the winners.

The closest competitor for the post of President was Deputy General Manager Shariful Islam and the closest competitor for the post of General Secretary was Manager Ekramul Haque.

The other elected positions are Deputy General Manager Faizuddin Mridha for the post of Senior Vice President, Manager Munshi Abu Sayem for the post of Vice President, Deputy Manager Sajiul Isla for the post of Joint General Secretary, Syed Mohammad Hossain for the post of Organizing Secretary, Faruk Hossain for the post of Professional Secretary, Rezwan Alam for the post of Finance Secretary, Mahbub Hosran for the post of Sports and Cultural Secretary, Mohammad Hanif for the post of Office Secretary, and Moin Uddin and Azmir Hossain Awlad for the post of Member.

In the bi-annual general election of the Barapukuria Coal Mine Officers Welfare (Dinajpur) Association, 17 candidates contested against the 14 posts. Out of these, 5 posts were declared unopposed as there were single candidates. Elections were held for the remaining 9 posts.
