International Women's Day Observed in Paikgachha

International Women's Day was observed in Paikgachha on Sunday through a colorful rally and a discussion meeting. The Upazila Administration and the Department of Women's Affairs organized the event on March 8, centered on the theme: "Today's steps, tomorrow's justice: Protect the rights of women and girls."

Presided over by Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallick, the meeting began with a welcome address by Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Reshma Akhter.

Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of ensuring equal rights and safety for women and girls to build a progressive society. Special guests included Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Ekramul Hossain, Animal Resources Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Roy, OC (Investigation) Idrisur Rahman, and local representatives Maulana Bulbul Ahmed and Maulana Altaf Hossain.

The program, moderated by SFDF Officer GM Zakaria, featured speeches from Press Club Vice President Md. Abdul Aziz, journalist Mazharul Islam Mithun, and various NGO representatives. Government officials from the education, cooperatives, family planning, and forestry departments were also in attendance to show their support for the cause.
