


International Mother Language Day and Shaheed Dibosh were observed in Phulbari, Dinajpur, with various programmes on Saturday.
In the early hours of the day, wreaths were placed at the Phulbari Upazila Central Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to the language martyrs. The Upazila Administration and Upazila Parishad, led by Upazila Executive Officer Ahmed Hachan, first paid their respects. This was followed by the Phulbari Municipality, led by Municipal Administrator and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Samiul Islam.
Several organisations later paid tribute at the Shaheed Minar, including the Muktijoddha Sangsad, Phulbari Police Station, Upazila BNP, Gana Sanghati Andolon, Madhyapara Stone Mining Contracting Company (GTC), Phulbari Press Club, along with various political, social and professional bodies and educational institutions.
To mark the day, the national flag was kept at half-mast, while black badges were worn. Discussion meetings and prayer programmes were also organised by the Upazila Administration, educational institutions and different social and political organisations.
