Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) has arrested Sajeeb Bhuiyan (33) alias ‘Source Babu’ on charges of extortion, robbery and fraud under fake RAB and DB identity in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj for a long time.
RAB said that the arrested Sajeeb Bhuiyan alias ‘Source Babu’ used to lead an organized gang in Siddhirganj and surrounding areas. His group has 10-12 members. Sometimes he would pretend to be a ‘source’ of RAB or DB, and sometimes an official, and would extort money from various businessmen by intimidating them.
If they refused to pay the extortion, he would also threaten to have them arrested by RAB or the police. In addition, he allegedly used to open fake Facebook and WhatsApp IDs using real photos of RAB and police members to commit fraud and extort money from various people. RAB-11 said that after the matter came to light, a shadow investigation was started and detective surveillance was increased to arrest the accused. In continuation of this, he was arrested in a raid in the Jalkuri area of Siddhirganj police station in Narayanganj at 3:25 am on February 19, 2026.
At that time, a foreign pistol, a pen gun, two rounds of bullet shells and 40 pieces of Yaba were recovered from him. RAB said that further legal action against the arrested accused is under process. Make some headlines.
