Sustainable Embankment Urged to Protect Banshkhali Coastline

BNP’s South Chattogram District Joint Convener Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury Pappa has called for the construction of a durable embankment to stop coastal erosion in Banshkhali.

During a visit to the Premashia area, he said no irregularities or corruption would be tolerated in embankment construction. “A strong, sustainable embankment is vital to protect lives and property along the coast,” he added.

Pappa noted that a Tk 300-crore project in the area had already suffered damage, with sections washed away last year. As a new Tk 550-crore project begins, he urged strict monitoring to ensure quality work.
