


Sardar Asaduzzaman, a retired teacher and celebrated freedom fighter, was buried with full state honors in Narail on Friday.
A former educator at Lohagara Government Pilot High School, Asaduzzaman passed away at his home in Collegepara on Wednesday following a long illness. He was the son of the late Abdul Malek Sardar.
The state funeral took place at 3:30 p.m. on the grounds of his former school. Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Shammi Kaiser accepted the salute on behalf of the state. Following the traditional guard of honor by a Lohagara Police Station team and a bugle performance, a one-minute silence was observed to honor his legacy.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, fellow freedom fighters, teachers, and local journalists. After the funeral prayers, Asaduzzaman was buried alongside his mother at their family graveyard. He is survived by two sons, a daughter, and many former students and admirers.
